VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission. It is the amount of light passing through the window after the film is applied. For example if a film is 35% VLT, this means that 35% of light is passing through the window and the remaining 65% is being absorbed by the film. The lower the VLT percentage, the darker the tint is. 5% VLT means only 5% of light is passing through the window while 95% is being absorbed by the film.
